South Africa will open a new tariff-free quota for U.S. poultry on Friday in an effort to avoid a suspension of its benefits under the African Growth and Opportunity Act, South African Trade Minister Rob Davies told Pro Trade’s Victoria Guida, in Nairobi, Kenya, today. President Barack Obama, in November, warned Pretoria that he would suspend its AGOA benefits in 60 days if it didn't resolve its issues with US meat imports.
