What is the RTA Exchange?

The RTA Exchange was created in the context of the E15 Initiative, launched by the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD) and jointly implemented with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to create a space where stakeholders can access the collective international knowledge on RTAs and engaged in dialogue on RTA-related policy issues.

The RTA Exchange website is coordinated by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) through its Integration and Trade Sector. It acts as a one-stop-shop for all things RTA. The website collects and disseminates information and analysis on RTAs, and provides a platform for the generation of news and solution-oriented research through a collaborative network of leading trade and integration experts. The RTA Exchange website also facilitates dialogue and experience sharing among policy makers, analysts, civil society, private sector and international organizations.

The RTA Exchange website is part of a larger RTA Exchange Initiative – jointly implemented by the IDB and ICTSD – that aims to promote dialogue and research to systematically explore possibilities for convergence and coherence building between RTAs and the multilateral trade system, and identify priorities for action or reform that enhance coherence at the global level.
